Taylor Swift has announced a run of Australian dates for her 1989 World Tour, but so far New Zealand is not on her touring schedule.

Swift will perform in Sydney, Brisbane, Adelaide and Melbourne next November-December, with enough days in between for more shows to be announced if they need to be. The 1989 tour will see her become the first female solo artist to play stadiums on back-to-back Australian tours, following the hugely successful Red Tour of 2013.

On that same Red Tour, Swift performed three sold-out concerts at Auckland's Vector Arena, so even though she has not announced New Zealand dates for the 1989 Tour yet, local fans hope that will change.

Australian singer/songwriter Vance Joy has been announced as the support act for the Australian leg of the World Tour, having already been confirmed as the support act for the North American tour. Taylor Swift recently covered his song 'Riptide' on the BBC Live Lounge.

The country pop singer recently broke sales records for her latest album, 1989, which sold 1.2million copies in its first week, achieving the highest first week sales for an album release since 2002, when Eminem released The Eminem Show.
