Rainbow Rally - Pride Wairau Walk

Join us for the 'Rainbow Rally' Pride Walk along the picturesque Taylor River, as we come together to close out Blenheim's inaugural Pride Festival in style!

This family-friendly event promises fun, unity, and plenty of rainbow spirit. We'll kick off from the Monro Street Carpark at 10am. Before we embark on our colourful rally, grab a coffee from the coffee cart and connect with fellow participants, fuelling up for the adventure ahead. 10:30am we'll start with a light warm-up to some energising beats, setting the mood for a joyful walk along the river.

Wear your brightest rainbow colors and wave your pride flags high as we make our way down the river, spreading love and visibility for all to see. Feel free to express yourself with handmade signs, amplifying the voices of our diverse community. We'll keep the music going as we make our way down the river in a clockwise direction, towards the Henry Street bridge getting maximum visibility along Nelson Street. We'll cross the river and make our way back towards Monro Street carpark.

Rain or shine, this rally will go ahead, with nothing dampening our spirits as we march together in solidarity and celebration. We'll conclude this joyous event with a small closing ceremony and karakia, marking the end of Blenheim's Pride Festival with gratitude, reflection, and a renewed commitment to love and acceptance.

Please remember to dress appropriately for the walk, and bring a reusable water bottle. All fitness levels are welcome, and well-behaved pets on leashes are invited to join the fun. Please note that bikes are not permitted for this event.
