Pacific Sisters Fiafia Piknik 2023

Join the Pacific Sisters for a very special event at the Kate Sheppard Reserve, celebrating the final weekend of their lightbox artworks Te Pu o Te Wheke and the last days of SCAPE Public Art Season 2022.

To farewell their artwork in style, Pacific Sisters are having a Fiafia Piknik 2023, an opportunity for the artists to demonstrate their appreciation and aro’a/alofa/aloha/aroha for the manaakitanga they have received from showing their works near Te Pae in the heart of Ōtautahi.

Pacific Sisters are set to share this day with superstar locals from Tagata Moana Trust and Moana Vā, and invite you to tell your fanau and friends to come along for a fab fun-filled day. Take part in free adornment workshops* or just totally relax and enjoy an intimate showcase of live music, dance, taonga pūoro and poetry.

Don’t forget to bring a mat or rug and pack a piknik**!

The afternoon will end with the Pacific Sisters’ signature ‘freestyle-frock-action’, where the public are invited to get funky, wear the taonga adornment they have made and take over the stage to show off their best-dressed moves.
