Since its world premiere, Andrew Lloyd Webber's CATS has been presented in over 30 countries, translated into 15 languages, and seen by more than 73 million people worldwide. This June, the record-breaking, award-winning musical returns to Aotea Centre for 4 shows only!
Adapted from TS Eliot’s Old Possum’s Book of Practical Cats, and performed by a cast of over 200 amazingly talented young performers from across the North Island, this spe-cat-ular musical comes together in a sparkling fusion of music, dance and verse, and has now taken on a new life for a new generation.
On just one special night of the year, all Jellicle cats meet at the Jellicle Ball, where one by one they tell their stories to their wise and benevolent leader Old Deuteronomy, who makes the Jellicle choice and announces which of them will go up to The Heaviside Layer and be reborn into a whole new Jellicle life.
With a superb score by Lord Andrew Lloyd Webber, breath-taking choreography, stunning costumes and of course the unforgettable ‘Memory’, CATS is a magical musical like no other.
