Held in the TeTuhi Auditorium, the MSO is proud to present a more intimate side of our orchestra, with out first MSO@Pakuranga concert. This performance will offer our audiences the opportunity to experience works we are not normally able to perform on a grand stage, in an affordable setting.
'Petite Symphonie', a 'mini symphony' for nine wind players by Charles Gounod opens our concert, followed by the Balinese gamelan-inspired 'Kembang Suling' (Flute flower) written by NZ composer Gareth Farr for marimba and flute. Anything but 'simple', Britten's 'Simple Symphony' for strings is based around eight themes Britten wrote as a child, and finally completed at the age of 20.
After the concert, there will be an informal opportunity to meet the players with refreshments provided. Seats are limited, general admission. Book now!
Under Covid Framework Guidelines, entry into TeTuhi auditorium will require everyone over 12 years of age to present a valid My Vaccine Pass, scanning in with the covid tracer app, and masks must be worn. For more information on the venue requirements, please visit https://tetuhi.art/about/visit/
Seating is general admission only.
