Manjit Singh - Tabla player
Manjit Singh upholds the essence of traditional Tabla playing. He has been teaching and performing Music since 1997. He has a Master's in Tabla from India and finished an undergraduate degree in Musicology, post-graduate in Indian and Jazz collaborations from Auckland. He is currently pursuing research on musical skills and music education for his Master's degree at the University of Auckland.
Besides teaching, Manjit also performs regularly with international and local musicians of Indian, Jazz, and world music genres. He has composed and recorded the opening ceremony music for ICC world cup 2015 and contributed to award-winning music albums in New Zealand.
