Christopher Johnstone came to New Zealand as the Director of the Auckland Art Gallery (1988-1995) following an art museum career at the Tate Gallery, National Galleries of Scotland, the Art Gallery of Western Australia and the Art Gallery of South Australia. He is the author of several books including: Landscape paintings of New Zealand, 2013. The Millennium Public Art Gallery is the first venue for this South Island exhibition’s tour.
