Palette Knife Class with Agnes Ishak
Agnes Ishak is an Assyrian New Zealand artist, originally from Baghdad Iraq. First & third prize winner from international art competitions. and her latest exhibition was Inanna’s Echo Art show at Nathan Homestead Main Gallery in Manurewa New Zealand. Agnes has been an exhibiting member of the New Zealand academy of fine arts since 1995. She went solo at the academy in October 2004, exhibiting works about figure study. In 2000 Agnes had a solo exhibition at Papakura Art Gallery in Auckland based on New Zealand Landscapes with chalk pastel. She also had another solo exhibition at Franklin Arts Centre.
In her Palette Knife Acrylic Painting Class, Agnes' students will discover their hidden ability with creativity while playing with palette knife in combination with a brush using acrylic paint on stretched canvas exploring how to create buildings, landscapes, water flowers and abstract art while the paint is still wet on your canvas.
Creating artwork on canvas with a palette knife is an interesting way of expressing thoughts or painting an image of buildings, trees, water, sky or the home back yard or going abstract and layering by splashing paint on canvas and moving it around mixing it by using palette knife technique while the paint is still wet. It is a technique that can be learned by beginners or emerging artists if you are interested in playing with colours and unfolding abilities of creativity with new tools. By the end of the six hour class, you can take your art piece home to enjoy. Everyone is welcome.
