For the first time at the National Jazz Festival, the BOP Symphonia will jazz it up with Joplin, Gershwin and Ellington.
Featuring piano soloist Soomin Kim – winner of the BoPS Rising Stars concerto competition (2015), who has performed as a soloist with the Auckland Philharmonia.
Justus Rozemond, the BOP Symphonia MD and Conductor since 2012 has arranged some of the works in the programme. The cross-over Ellington Suite: The River has probably not been performed in NZ before, while the orchestration of the Joplin Overture to Treemonisha was produced especially for this very occasion.
Hear a dazzling selection of jazz-influenced orchestral music.
