Brazilian born pianist Camila De Oliviera brings a dynamic and exciting programme filled with pathos, passion and intensity. Beginning with Mendlessohn’s Variations Serieuses opus 54, written as a tribute to Beethoven in 1841, she contrasts the tragic with the romantic chopinesque style of Alexander Scriabin with a selection from his Etudes opus 8. To conclude on a vibrant note Camila turns to NZ composer Jenny Mcleod with her Rock Sonata no.2 –this is when the Serious finds the Rock’n’ Roll!
Camila is a masters student at the University of Auckland and supported by the Inspire Partnership Programme at the Auckland Philharmonia Orchestra
