Experience a one-on-one walking tour that activates your senses and encourages deep connections with the surrounding art and architecture. As dancers guide you through Gallery spaces, even the simple act of opening and closing your eyes becomes a revelation. Immediate, personal, physical – this immersive movement tour will transform the way you experience art.

This event was developed and choreographed by Olive Bieringa of BodyCartography project and is led by Josie Archer and Kosta Bogoievski. It is supported by Creative New Zealand and was commissioned as part of the collection of Museum of New Zealand Te Papa Tongarewa, 2017.

Tours need to be booked in advance and will run every half hour from 1.30pm–4.00pm. Each tour can take up to two people and will run for 30 minutes. On Tue 15 Oct evening tours are available as part of our ‘Late-Night Art’ event.

About BodyCartography Project:
Olive Bieringa (NZ) and Otto Ramstad (USA) currently reside in Oslo, Norway. They are deeply invested in the power of live performance to facilitate a re-enchantment of embodiment, relationship, and presence. They have created performances, installations, films, workshops, talks, festivals and curatorial projects around the world. Presenters include Walker Art Center, Minnesota, Performance Space 122, NYC, Portland Institute of Contemporary Arts, Lyon Opera Ballet, San Francisco Museum of Modern Art and the Oslo City Department of Cultural Affairs amongst others.
